So you have just bought a brand new cabinet – congratulations! Cabinets are definitely not cheap and most of them come with hefty price tags. This is why maintaining it and keeping it looking like new is very important.
Read below if you are looking for ways to maintain your RTA bath or kitchen cabinets:
Wipe it Down
Once you have installed your brand new cabinet, make sure to wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Dry it down right after with a dry and clean cloth to prevent any streaks from forming. If you want, you can also apply a thin coat of polish that does not contain silicone or wax.
Keep it Dry
Moisture is every cabinet’s worst enemy. During humid days, or if you’ve accidentally spilled liquid on it, make sure to dry it with a clean piece of cloth immediately. Never place anything with hot steam coming out of it near your cabinets, as this can ruin the material.
Keep it Away from the Sun
Any furniture, when exposed to the sun, can be easily damaged. Make sure to keep your cabinets away from direct sunlight. Use blinds or curtains to cover your windows from the harsh rays of the sun.
Say no to Chemicals
Different types of cleaners can do more harm than good to your cabinets. Avoid substances such as bleach, organic solvents, ammonia, and citric acid.
Keep it Smooth
Avoid using rough materials to clean your cabinets as this could only lead to scratches. Use a clean and soft damp cloth to clean it out instead of using scouring pads or rough cleaners.
Everyone wants their cabinets and other furniture looking classy for the longest time possible, so be sure to clean them regularly. Besides, doing this will give you the best value for your money.
